The Phillies tried to take the series against the Chicago White Sox on Sunday afternoon at Citizens Bank Park. The win would give them a .500 record at the All Star Break.

The Phillies beat out the White Sox in 10 innings by a score of 4-3.

It was Cole Hamels' turn to take the mound against this American League lineup. Hamels had pitched two quality starts in a row after a below average start to 2013.

The Phillies would be trying their bats on Jose Quintana.

The Phillies bats came out scoring in the first inning, when Donomic Brown knocked in two runs with a double to score Chase Utley and Jimmy Rollins. Brown notched his 66th and 67th RBIs on the play.

Later in the 4th inning, Hamels helped out his own cause with an RBI single to score Delmon Young.

Hamels kept the White Sox lineup very quiet until the seventh inning, where he gave up a few base runners before allowing a hit to Jeff Keppinger, who knocked in a run.

The White Sox scored again in the eight inning on a solo shot by Alejandro De Aza, his 12th of the season.

Hamels pitched eight solid innings, giving up two earned tuns, while striking out seven.

Jonathan Papelbon came in to close things out in the ninth inning, but he blew his fifth save of the year on a RBI single by Josh Phegley.

The Phillies failed to score in the bottom of the ninth, taking the game to extra innings for the third game in a row.

In the bottom of the 10th inning, the Phillies loaded the bases on a mixture of walks and hits. In the end, it was John Mayberry Jr. who hit a single up the middle scoring Chase Utley and winning the game.

This is the second walk off win for the Phillies in a row.

The win went to Antonio Bastardo. David Purcery suffered the loss.

After a total of 34 innings of play against the White Sox, the Phillies take the series 2-1.

They went 7-3 on the 10 game home stand. At the break, the team's record sits out 48-48. They are six games behind the Atlanta Braves in the National League East.

There will be no Phillies games until Friday night after the All Star Break. They will head to New
York to start a series against the New York Mets.
