After a horrible road trip, the Phillies won their first game back in Philadelphia against the Giants. They hoped the momentum would carry on through the rest of the series, but sadly the Giants offense returned with a vengeance, beating the Phillies 9-2.

After a quiet Trade Deadline, the teams roster stays the same, with the exception of the promotion of Cody Asche, who started Wednesday night.

Kyle Kendrick took the mound against Chad Gaudin.

The Giants bats came out flying in the first inning, scoring four runs including hits from RBI singles from Pablo Sandoval, Bret Pill and rookie Roger Kieschnick.

Chase Utley responded  in the bottom of the first inning with a solo shot, his 14th of the year.

In the third inning the Giants started to score again with more RBI singles from Belt, Kieschnick and pitcher Gaudin.

In the seventh inning, the Giants hit two solo home runs of of J. C. Ramirez. Bret Pill hit the first and the second by Brandon Crawford.

The Phillies scored one more run in the eighth inning on a ground out by Chase Utley, which scored Jimmy Rollins.

Kyle Kendrick suffered the lose and falls to 9-8 on the season, while Chad Gaudin moves to 5-2 with his win.

The Phillies will try to win the series against the Giants tomorrow.
