The Phillies lost the game, and, subsequently, the series to their division rivals.

David Wright and the Mets dominated the Phillies 8-0. Wright batted four of five with a homer, triple, and two doubles.

John Lannan started the game for the Phils and soon allowed the Mets to get on the board. Murphy scored on a sacrifice fly.

Matt Harvey started for the Mets and pitched six dominant innings, letting up only two hits to the Phils.

The Mets were scoreless until the fifth, and then they went off. They scored three runs on three doubles and a Phillies fielding error.

In the top of the sixth, Lannan walked to batters and gave up a double, which scored both baserunners.

Manuel made the decision to bring out Savery to relieve Lannan. He allowed one more run on a sac fly that increased the deficit to 6-0.

Savery allowed another run in the seventh on a double that scored David Wright.

LaTroy Hawkins came on for the Mets in the seventh, and J.C Ramirez relieved Joe Savery in the eight for the Phils.

Jake Diekman pitched the top of the ninth, and gave up a homer to Wright to make the score 8-0, Mets.

Brandon Lyon, who came out for the Mets in the eighth, closed out the game for the Mets by shutting down the Phillies in the final innings of the game.

The Phillies are hoping to bounce back from their disappointing outing when they head to San Diego. The three game series kicks off on Monday, with Cliff Lee on the mound for the Phillies. Eric Stults will be the starting pitcher for the Padres.
