Game 1
After the Phillies game was postponed of Friday night, the Phillies looked forward to a doubleheader on Saturday against the Chicago White Sox.
Johnathan Pettibone was on the mound in game one, going against John Danks.
The Phillies lost game one by a score of 5-4.
The Phillies got off to an early lead, getting an RBI on a ground out by Dominic Brown, followed by a RBI single by Delmon Young.
Pettitbone cruised until the fifth, where Alejandro De Aza hit a two RBI double.
The inning after, the White Sox took the lead on a sacrifice fly by Conor Gillaspie.
Darin Ruf tied the game on a solo shot in the seventh inning.
After a rain delay, the game then went to extra innings, and there was no scoring from either team until the 11th inning.
The White Sox took the lead on an RBI double by Alexei Ramirez, followed by Alex Rios scoring on an error by Jimmy Rollins.
The Phillies retaliated in the bottom of the inning, when Humberto Quintero knocked in a run on an RBI single.
But the Phillies could not score anymore runs, and lost the game.
The win went to Ramon Troncoso. The loss went to J.C. Ramirez. Addison Reed, the White Sox closer, picked up his 24th save.
In good news, Darin Ruf went 3-4 with an RBI and a home run
In bad news, Ben Revere broke his right foot and will most likely be missing time.
Game 2
The Phillies came out looking to split the doubleheader against the White Sox
The second game of the double header was a long tedious outing for all players. Phillies came out victorious in 13 innings by a score of 2-1.
John Lannan pitched for the Phillies. Hector Santiago opposed him for the White Sox.
The White Sox took the lead in the fifth inning on a sacrifice fly by Gordon Beckham.
In the seventh inning, John Mayberry tied the game on a solo home run.
The game also went to extra innings.
In the top of the 11th inning, Jake Diekman got out of a jam, with help from a great play by third basemen Michael Young.
In the bottom of the 13th inning, the Phillies won the game on a walk-off single by Michael Young. Jimmy Rollins slid in under the the tag to score the winning run.
Joe Savery picked up his second win of the year, while Simon Castro took the loss
The Phillies and White Sox played a total of 24 inning today.
Phillies will try to win tomorrow and take the series in their final game before the All-Star break.
