Phils make one more trade before the end of the day

Phillies beat writer Todd Zolecki reported via Twitter that the Phillies made yet another trade.

Here is the tweet:

The Phillies traded C Tuffy Gosewisch to the Toronto Blue Jays for no compensation.

Okay, so it is far from a blockbuster trade, but I guess it is worth noting.

The 28 year-old Goeswisch has spent his entire career thus far in the minor leagues. Last year he played in 109 games for Double-A Reading, batting .247 with 13 home runs, 19 doubles and 66 RBI's.

This year he played 65 games for Triple-A Lehigh Valley, batting a dismal .192 with only 4 home runs, 13 doubles, and 20 RBI's.

His career totals in Triple-A do not hold up that much better either. Over a span of 81 games Gosewisch has a .194 batting average and 73 RBI's.

With numbers like that, it is not hard to realize why the Phillies received no compensation from Toronto.
