Cole Hamels lost both starts since signing his six-year, $144 million contract extension with the Phillies. But that changed on Tuesday night.

Hamels (12-6) threw a complete game shutout, ending his two game losing streak and snapping the Braves' streak of seven consecutive wins against the Phillies.

Hamels struck out six and only gave up five hits in the 11th complete game, and fifth shutout, of his career.

Braves starter Mike Minor threw seven innings, but gave up three earned runs in the first inning.

With Jimmy Rollins on second, Dominic Brown hit a base hit  into centerfield. Rollins came home and Brown was able to stretch a routine single into a double, beating the throw to second by Michael Bourn.

Then after a Chase Utley line out, Ryan Howard blasted a two-run shot into center. The home run was Howard's fifth of the season.

The Phillies will wrap up their series against the Braves on Wednesday night, with Kyle Kendrick (4-9) on the mound against the Braves' Tim Hudson (11-4).
